Bugged Off I Wasn't There!

A much better weekend after a seven-goal thriller at The Vic sees us into the last 16!

Unfortunately I wasn’t there to see it myself due to illness but have spoken to a couple of the lads and, barring the final 10 minutes where by all accounts we made it tough for ourselves, our performance was one of the best yet. I even heard that Jay smashed one in from 20 yards! I’m looking forward to seeing that on TV.

As I said I caught a bit of a bu ...

Moving House & Moving On Up?

Firstly sorry for the lateness in my weekly diary this week; the reason is that my lease expired on my apartment so have spend the majority of the weekend moving home and I'm still in the process of doing this, so excuse me if this is brief!

Unfortunately Saturday's result has meant another unpleasant weekend for Hornets fans. Although once again you wouldn’t say that we were totally outplayed by our opponents, we were nonetheless on the wrong end of a 2-0 scoreline. A ...

Putting Defeat Behind Us

Not the result we were hoping for despite some promising play away at Reading.

The result flattered them a bit, the second goal turned out to be a deflating one from our point of view and made the last 20 minutes a stroll for Reading. We always knew it would be a tough task so we won’t lose heart from this result and I’m sure there’ll be a reaction in next week’s game at home to Sheffield United.

The week itself wasn&am ...

Cup Win & Elton Visit

Another eventful week and a good win over Scunthorpe to make for a good weekend for all Watford fans.

Although Scunthorpe are a League One team, it was only last season they were in the Championship and coming to Vicarage Road and turning us over, so I think it’s important not to underestimate yesterday's result.

The pitch was tricky and made a good passing game tough but once again there were periods of play where we strung a number of passes toget ...

A Footballer's Christmas

Well firstly I hope you all had a great Christmas and all over-indulged!

Christmas is always a busy time for a footballer and this year has been no different - hence my weekly diary being written a couple of days late!

Firstly the game against Bristol City which was quite a disappointment for all involved. We never really got going until the second half when at times it looked like a come-back was possible but unfortunately it wasn’t m ...

Derby Disappointment But Big Week Ahead

We knew that a win against Derby would put us right back in the pack and fighting for a Play-Off berth, unfortunately we couldn’t put in the performance or gain the result required on this occasion.

It took a late goal to defeat us which is always a disappointing way to go down but, if we're honest, we didn’t really deserve to take anything from this game.

There were again glimpses of what we're capable of and some good openi ...

Two Games, Two Wins - A Good Week

Two games, two wins - a great week for us!

Not only can I talk about promising performances but also results.

The midweek game against Norwich wasn’t our best performance by a long shot. In fact it's probably the worst we’ve played under Brendan but we showed plenty of good qualities and were able to grind out a big win. Composed finishes from both Tamas and Tommy meant a crucial three points and set us up nicely for the game ...

Two Near Misses & More Change

Two promising performances but nothing to show for our efforts in another busy week at The Vic.

For those who were fortunate enough to have a ticket for the Spurs game, I’m sure they’ll agree with me that for 20 minutes or so you would have been hard pushed to have guessed who the Premiership side wa. Credit to Tottenham in that they did up their game and showed some fighting spirit when it mattered and were able to edge past us on their way to the semi.

A New Beginning...

Another eventful week at The Vic: two points gained and a new man in charge.

Brendan Rodgers took charge as of Wednesday and I think I can speak for all the lads when I say that he’s made an instant impact and a very positive one at that.

His philosophy on the game is one that deserves success, he wants us to get the ball down and enjoy playing football. He’s got a vision of a team that keep the majority of possession and, when needed, be ...

Disappointed & Upbeat (at the same time)

Finally the result that we’ve been threatening for a few weeks; from start to finish every player worked their socks off and the 3-0 score line certainly didn’t flatter us.

I was disappointed to be given the news on Friday that I wouldn’t be playing. Admittedly I had played a couple of games that weren’t up to my usual standard but I was very pleased with my past two performances so the news did come as a surprise to me but if anyon ...
