Boxing Clever & Bonus Sports

A break is upon us which has meant a gruelling week of training followed by a few days off.

The training itself consisted of Tuesday and Wednesday being football-based and gym-based and then, for a change, on Thursday we found ourselves in a boxing gym in St. Albans being put through our paces by a trainer there. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who felt a bit sore the next day!

We also had a reserve game earlier in the week which was my second game since returning from injury.  The game itself was against a very experienced Ipswich team. It was quite an exciting game, one in which I had plenty of saves to make, a couple that I was really pleased with and once again there were plenty of positives for me to take despite the team going down 3-0.

As for the days off we were given, I decided on taking a trip up to Leicester to meet with my business partner and see how Dr Cap is progressing and then stayed up to enjoy a night out on Saturday in Nottingham. I then came back down south on Saturday and went to watch the show ‘Wicked’ in London.

I went with my girlfriend, Leigh Bromby, his fiancé, John Eustace and his girlfriend. We had a really great night; I very rarely go to shows but I always really enjoy them and say to myself that I should go more.

The transfer deadline passed without any activity at Watford, it was Manchester City who made quite a stir and if all is to be believed then it could well be an exciting time ahead for Manchester City and we could well have a realistic threat to the ‘Big Four’ in the Premiership.

As I write this I see that Andy Murray is two sets to love up against Nadal in the US open, which combined with the kick-off of the NFL season means I’ve got a fun evening in store!

See you next week.
