Not the result we were hoping for despite some promising play away at Reading.
The result flattered them a bit, the second goal turned out to be a deflating one from our point of view and made the last 20 minutes a stroll for Reading. We always knew it would be a tough task so we won’t lose heart from this result and I’m sure there’ll be a reaction in next week’s game at home to Sheffield United.
The week itself wasn’t an ideal one for training. The weather conditions meant the training pitches at Colney were frozen over so we had to make the trip over to Boreham Wood FC to train on the astroturf. This meant a few more niggling injuries than normal and not quite so pleasant to dive on for a keeper! Nevertheless we did train every day and the quality of the training was at a high standard, all being considered.
Despite many transfer rumours in the newspapers, there has as yet been no movement out of Vicarage Road. As players it goes without saying that we want everyone to stay, but we all realise that sometimes situations are such that certain things have to happen and often change brings a certain freshness, so we are prepared for it.
I’m sure within the next couple of weeks there be more to report on that front although I won’t be overly disappointed if this isn’t the case.
For a change it has been quite a quiet week at Watford FC and therefore not much more to report. Unfortunately results didn’t go our way this weekend so we all know the importance of next weekend’s game, I’m sure it’ll be a good one.
It'll also be an opportunity to welcome back Darius to The Vic. As much as I like Darius I very much hope his return isn’t a pleasant one! See ya next week.
