Twice As Nice!

Well what a fantastic week! Successive 2-0 victories see us climbing out of the relegation zone in some style and with games in hand over those around us.

Tuesday night was a great night. We faced an in form Swansea team, a real test for us. We went into the game with confidence on the back of our performance against Chelsea and it certainly showed. Two superb goals and a very solid defensive display saw us run out quite comfortable winners in the end and even meant we claimed the ‘Performance of the Week' award.

We were then able to reward our loyal fans who travelled the long journey to Blackpool with yet another accomplished display. Once again, built on solid foundations, we created some good chances and thanks to a brave diving header from Mike Williamson and a cool finish from Tamas we once again ran out quite comfortable winners and believe me, it was an enjoyable journey back despite taking the best part of four hours!

I must give Mike an extra mention, who, with Jay, Lloyd and Ady at the back are forming quite a unit. Mike’s only been here a matter of games but he’s been sure to mark his authority on the games he’s played. Good in the air, cool with the ball, he's looking like a fantastic acquisition.

Something that has also been apparent during the last few games has been the role the crowd play, I get a good feeling about the atmosphere around Vicarage road at the moment and it’s it’s not just me who’s commented on it.

Singing for 90 minutes on Tuesday (what is that new song by the way?) made it a great place to be, the lads are feeding off it and in turn I believe we’ve been able to raise our game. You really can’t underestimate the role the fans can play and it’s helping turn Vicarage road into something of a fortress lately.

No midweek game this week before a run of three midweek games in a row.  It will be a good opportunity to recuperate before a tough run, but it is a run that we will be looking to ensure our survival.

There is also a reserve game Monday night that I’ll be taking part in which I’m looking forward to. It has been a while since my last game and due to the amount of fixtures coming up it may be another while before my next one. So hopefully that’ll go well and I’ll be reporting about another three points earned next weekend!

Take care.
