Rodgers, Rest and Reunion

Another incident-packed week - when it should be the quiet close season! Brendan's departure coinciding with a return from the States...and now it's golf for Rich with two of Watford's top stoppers!

After a quiet few weeks it certainly has been an eventful week at The Vic with the departure of Brendan Rogers to Reading.

It does now mean the hunt is on for a successor. Many names have been thrown into the equation, all of whom I’m sure would come in and continue the progression of our football club. I guess the one that would stand out for most of the players would of course be Malky. He did such a good job in his brief time in charge and I know the players would be happy if he were given a real crack at it; whether it’s now at Watford or in the near future with another club I’m sure he’ll do a great job...he certainly has all the credentials.

I've talked more about Brendan's departure in my latest Discussion Point - or Blog - as I'm probably going to re-name it as I'd like to introduce some more general, non-football chat to the site and open things up a bit.

Back to this week, and apart from the WFC news it's been a fun week from a personal point of view. I spent the last few days in Vegas - that place is unreal, I wish I could even begin to describe it to you but I’m not sure I’d be able to do it justice!

For now I'm heading off to Alec’s villa in spain thanks to a £20 return flight via Ryanair! I will be going with Ben Foster, who I haven’t seen for a couple of months, so looking forward catching up with him. Unfortunately, due to his thumb injury he won’t be able to play golf with us so he’ll be the designated driver of the golf buggy!

I’ll be back next week and, who knows, I could be talking about the next manager of Watford FC. It is still exciting times ahead. As I said before it was disappointing because we, as players, all liked Brendan a lot but this club is moving in the right direction and I’m sure whoever is chosen will continue that progression.

Bye for now.
