News of a trip to see royalty in London and some post-Williamson thoughts this week from Rich
The international break meant a relatively quiet week at Watford.
With no games, it was a week of tough training followed by a few days off after what has been a hectic start to the season. Seven games in three weeks followed by none in a fortnight doesn’t seem to make much sense but it did mean the first days off for some time.
The transfer window went without any additions and just the one further departure, that of Mike Williamson. Mike had only been with us a short period of time but in that time he won a lot of admirers and I’m sure he’ll do well in the Premiership. I had gotten close to Mike in the time he was at Watford so I'm sad to see him go - not only due to him being a very good player but he is also a good person who did what he felt was necessary to fulfil not only his own but his family’s dreams too.
The days off meant an opportunity to do something I wouldn’t normally have the time to do. For me, this was a day in London, followed by dinner at ‘Inamo’ (Would definitely recommend!) and a show to finish. We watched 'We Will Rock You’; I really enjoyed it and didn’t realise how many Queen songs I actually knew!
Back to training tomorrow and the challenge of Barnsley on Saturday. A few of the lads will still be on international duty until later in the week which does have its effect on training but most clubs are in the same boat on that one. Come Saturday I have no doubt that we’ll all be in good shape and raring to go.
Cheers for now - Rich.
