A week without a game meant a rare night out for the squad, although Rich was in action in the Reserves
Sorry for the delayed diary this week; an international break meant a couple of days off and no laptop!
Last week was a tough one in terms of training. Although there was no game to train for last weekend we do have another big game this weekend so the preparation began earlier than normal.
The one thing of note was a team night out we had last week. Every now and again we try to all go out as a team, as with any job it’s good to be outside of a work environment and you really get to know the lads on a different level and bond, so to speak.
The night itself was fantastic and I’m sure all the lads had a great time. I’m sure this would have been the sort of thing that was common practice in years gone by but with football as it is now we are fully aware this is a rarity and therefore choose our time wisely to have a night out. With our next game being some way off, we decided the timing was right.
We have had two reserve games since I last wrote (albeit one of which a friendly). Unfortunately we lost both but some of the play at times going forward I have to say was a joy to watch. But, much as with the first team in the last two games, we couldn’t turn those chances into goals.
So another big week and another big game, it’ll be a tough one but we’ll go there full of confidence and looking for a win.
Rich
